Recensione: Sweden has been one of the countries bringing some of the finest sounds in Hard Rock and Metal music during the past 25 years.
Melodies, great lyrics and catchy hooks are the most significant trademarks which have established the “Swedish Sound” as a special brand within the musical world.
It’s no surprise that Talisman, in their now 16 years long spinning career, have built up their own unique identity, which throughout the years has turned them into one of the most admired bands by Hard Rock fans all over the world.
Featuring in their line-up two former Yngwie Malmsteen’s Rising Force members, Jeff Scott Soto on vocals and Marcel Jacob on bass, they have contributed in the creation of a classic sound that nowadays stand as a synonym for the term ‘melodic hard rock’.
During the years the band has released seven successful studio albums and two live cds, while Soto and Jacob have collaborated in 2 different studio projects HUMAN CLAY and HUMANIMAL.
Talisman’s return with their brand new opus, simply entitled “7” happens 3 years after their successful opus “Cats And Dogs”.
In the past three years all the band members have been very busy with other project.
Singer Jeff Scott Soto, started cooperation with JOURNEY guitar player Neal Schon with the band SOUL SIRKUS, eventually landing the spot as lead singer for JOURNEY later in the summer 2006.
Jacob worked with the AOR band LAST AUTUMN’S DREAM together with drummer Jamie Borger, who also took his part in the TREAT line-up for their reunion in 2006.
Guitar player Fredrik Akesson is now also part of ARCH ENEMY.
Still the guys found the time and the enthusiasm to concentrate on the material for the new album which, according to Jacob “might simply be our best ever”.
